Today’s challenge for our
parish, school and neighborhoods is not multicultural, but intercultural
living. As we strive to live in community with one another, we must
learn to understand and honor our differences and to live across them.
Dealing with diversity begins in the heart, and what begins in the heart
must be nurtured and turned into action. The people of God who worship,
learn, pray, and play at St. Kieran are our greatest resource to meet
the challenge we face. If we are willing to share our God-given gifts
with one another, we will be profoundly changed by our encounter. As
children of the same God, we can further the achievement of a new
world—God’s kingdom on earth.
Our newly-formed St. Kieran Diversity committee is pledged to prayer,
sacrifice, and action to further this effort in our midst. We ask that
you pray with us that the Holy Spirit empower us all to live truly as
God’s people. |
