Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Lord:

Summer has gone and fall approaches. It’s good to see the seasons change. But one thing that doesn’t change is the quality of education and the mission to form our children as faithful followers of Jesus. Here are some points to consider:

· We can choose to tell the truth and not lie.

· We can show we are honorable by treating every person with respect and dignity.

· We can choose to do the just thing—the right thing—when tempted to do wrong.

· We can choose to stay away from sinful things and keep our minds pure.

· We can notice things that are lovely, like God’s beautiful creation.

· We can keep control of our tongue so that our words are gracious, and not rude or offensive.

· We can study / work really hard, and give our best efforts to achieve excellence in everything we do.

· We can be kind to others so that our actions are worthy of praise.

This is why we have Catholic schools and why St. Kieran School exists --- to help parents, students, and all parishioners become better disciples of Christ and more obvious in our practice of faith; for our good and the welfare of one another. I pray this school year that we can, with God’s help and our participation, grow in knowledge and grace of Jesus and one another, especially as we celebrate 50 years of faith, family, and fellowship.

As our school and Religious Education programs begin and the activities and events of parish life commence, I thank one and all for your needed and necessary help and participation build our life in Christ in this parish. Thanks also for your continued generosity and stewardship. God will not be outdone in generosity!

Let’s give our minds and hearts to the Lord!

Father Joe
