Dear Sisters and Brothers in
the Lord:
As I prepare myself to ‘officially’ assume the duties and
responsibilities as your pastor, I am profoundly aware of God’s infinite
goodness, grace, and abiding presence. I am grateful to each and every
one of you for your warmth, welcome, hospitality and collaboration in
this ‘work’ of the Lord we do together.
The commission given to us by
the Lord Jesus himself at our baptism, and stated in our mission
statement, is “to become disciples and stewards” by the witness and
example of our lives. What an exhilarating and challenging opportunity
God has given each of us!
Pray for me as that I may
always “pursue righteousness, devotion, faith, love, patience, and
gentleness” and always be witness to the Lord’s power and presence among
us. It’s the Lord’s work we undertake not solely our own. May God who
has begun this good work in us, direct us, guide us and bring it to
completion through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
