We had a great start to our new 2007/2008 school year!
As of this
writing we have enrolled in school approximately 160 students (Pre-K
through 8th grade). While this enrollment is good, it
unfortunately falls short of our anticipated enrollment of 190
students. The school does have a shortfall of expected revenue of
$105,000.00. Be that as it may, it is my hope that the total number
of students will increase so that the revenue for the school will
cover costs.
You can
help
by selling
and/or buying tickets to our school raffle. Tickets are five dollars
apiece and will help meet the financial goals. The parish
(non-school as well as school families) has or will have received
these tickets already. Everyone’s effort is needed to help keep
Catholic education financially viable here. I know I can count on
your effort and good work! I will keep you all informed.
Catholic
education is a great blessing and gift but it also requires
sacrifice. I would ask for your generous response to our
Godparents’ Fund,
which
helps Catholic families who cannot afford Catholic education to do
so through your generous donation. Several families have already
benefited from the funds available to them through your openhanded
offering. Our school and Religious Education programs are gifts God
has given not only to us but also to the community at large. The
most precious gift we can give to others is the witness of our faith
in Christ that we proclaim and strive to live out in our day-to-day
lives.
Please
remember in your prayers
all our
students in school and R.E. as well as all our teachers, catechists,
aides, Mr. Simone, Mrs. Vasek
and
all
who support Catholic education here at St. Kieran. Catholic
education needs to be ALL our concern. Together we can succeed;
divided we will fail.
If you
wish to make a donation to the Godparents’ Fund please see Mr.
Simone, Mrs. Vasek or me. |
